New York City, the city where dreams come true and where hundreds of people gather to watch a man eat an entire jar of cheese balls. Posters with “Watch me eat this entire jar of cheese balls,” and a photo of a male in an orange ski mask holding a jar of cheese balls were posted around the city. The gathering was held at Union Square Park on April 27 at 3 p.m. Although many wouldn’t think much of the poster, it did become a huge event over the weekend. The gathering was most probably the most wholesome thing to happen in New York City in a while.

What happened at the cheese ball gathering?

The man, also known as @cheeseballman427, is responsible for hundreds of people gathering at Union Square Park over the weekend. It’s been something he’s been preparing since last month, posting on TikTok about the event and eating a cheese ball for every follower he gets on the social media app.

The consumption of a cheese ball jar was a show. Cheese Ball Man had an opening act — a man riding a bicycle and balancing a tire on his head. If this doesn’t scream New York, I don’t know what does.

The Cheese Ball Man was committed, going as far as eating some cheese balls that had fallen on the ground (I have so much respect for him, but also, very concerned for him).

The crowd chanted phrases like “Eat those balls,” “This is awesome,” and “Let him cook” to cheer him on as well as offering him water to help with his journey.

In @alldaynyc’s TikTok video, Cheese Ball Man asked why people came out to see him, one person yelled in response, “Because why not?”

Who knew a man and a jar of cheese balls could bring together so many people? After the event, many took to social media. One user commented on a TikTok, “There he is. the new king of New York.” On X, many flooded @ScooterCasterNY’s post, commenting “America is so back dude,” “Now these are the types of public gatherings we should be having,” and “Look at how we come together in the name of cheese balls.”

Did Cheese Ball Man finish the jar?

Yes. With cheese dust-crusted fingers, he popped the last cheese ball in his mouth and the crowd went wild.

“I’ve only got one question,” said Cheese Ball Man. “Same time next year?”

TBH, I’m hoping this becomes a national holiday.
